The iPad Pro 2022's screen gets fairly bright. (Image credit: Tom's Guide) Color-wise, the iPad Pro’s display covered 117.1% of the sRGB color gamut and 82.4% of the more demanding DCI-P3 color
I would mostly be using it for note taking during lectures and study, but also for research alongside my MacBook pro and Mac Mini. The 11" is $1,309 AUD off the Apple Education Store while the 12.9" is $1,729 AUD. Money isn't really an issue but I am just wondering whether the extra $400 is worth it for the bigger size.
The screen is great on the Samsung and compared to the 11” iPad Pro that is still using IPS, that aspect is better on the Galaxy Tab S9. The expandable storage is also really nice to have and it would be great if Apple had that, but they don’t. The performance of the iPad is simply faster as their M2 chip is a beast in a mobile device.
However, if you draw, the best electronic device you can get is the iPad pro large model, followed by the iPad pro small model. If you are a photographer, you want it for the accurate screen, and the better pen support is just nice. The M2 is not for iOS 16. It’s for iOS 20+ being stunningly fast.
For example the 12.9inch gets kind of heavy with the Magic keyboard, but gets a full keyboard and a good laptop experience, whereas the 11 inch have a smaller keyboard and I guess it also would feel less of laptop. And how is the trackpad sizes compared? Please share your toughts on the Magic Keyboard sizes.
BagFullOfSharts • 1 yr. ago. Yes, the 12.9 has a bigger brighter screen and it uses more battery. It’s far and away better than the 11 pro screen. It does have some bloom though so look out for that. However, 50% brightness is usually pretty good unless you’re in direct sunlight which saves quite a bit of battery.
